A few days before the official presentation of the OnePlus Nord 2, the manufacturer and new leaks tell us a little more about the next mid-range. The latter will thus be entitled to 2 major updates and will be equipped with a 50 MP main sensor. A new render also reveals that the brand ditched the dual selfie sensor.
The OnePlus Nord 2 will be presented next week, but we already know almost everything about it. Whether by the leaks or by the manufacturer himself, a lot of information has already reached us. Nevertheless, there are still some gray areas, which are now clearing up. We now know more about the design of the smartphone, its support by OnePlus and its main sensor.
Let’s start with the design. A new rendering provided by 91 Mobiles reveals the front of the phone, shortly after revealing it from all angles. For the first time, we discover its selfie sensor, which this time seems unique. No more double sensor on the front, so OnePlus has obviously adopted a more classic perforated screen layout.
The OnePlus Nord 2 Would Have The Same 50 MP Main Sensor As The OnePlus 9 PRO
On Twitter, OnePlus also revealed ahead of time that its next mid-range will ship OxygenOS 11 by default. The smartphone will thus be entitled to two major updates, accompanied by 3 years of security updates. That’s a little less than the market trend, which was recently revised upwards with three major updates for several smartphones, but it’s still pretty decent for a model of this price.
Finally, leaker Ishan Agarwal claims that the OnePlus Nord 2 will be equipped with the same main sensor as the OnePlus 9 Pro, namely Sony’s IMX 766 50 megapixel. This is therefore a very nice improvement for the mid-range, although it should be tempered with previous leaks which announce an 8 MP wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP sensor to complete.
As a reminder, the smartphone will be powered by Mediatek’s SoC Dimensity 1200 , as confirmed by OnePlus. It is also known that it will feature a 6.43 ”AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The rest of the technical sheet will be unveiled on July 22, the date of presentation of the phone.
